📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Always Ahead. The women’s basketball team never trailed in its game against UNLV on Wednesday. The Lobos held UNLV to only nine points in the first quarter and ended up winning 68-57. The team shot 50.90% from the field and 45% from deep. Joana Magalhães led the team with 15 points.

🔺 Weekly Honor. Men’s basketball player Jake Hall was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week. This is his second time being honored this season. He averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last week. Hall shot .500 from deep in the wins over Fresno State and Nevada.

🔺 Ranks. The University of New Mexico is ranked No. 23 in the final fall Learfield Rankings. The Lobos are still the top G6 school in the standings.

🔺 Spring Opener. The men’s golf team concluded its first event of the spring season. The Lobos finished in seventh place at the Southwestern Invitational on Wednesday. New Mexico shot 30 over par after three rounds. Emil Albers led the team, finishing tied for 11th individually.

🔺 Day 1. The swim and dive team competed on the first day of the Lumberjack Invitational on Thursday. Alice English finished 10th, and Esme Abbadi-Macintosh was 12th in the 1-meter dive.
