What all is steeping in todayโs Brew?
๐ Made the list
๐ Sweep victory
โ๐บ And much, much more!
๐ฅ MICโD UP
Pass The Mic. We have another episode of micโd up from fall camp! Kicker Luke Drzewieck was micโd up last week. Heโs entering his sophomore season after having a very successful freshman campaign. He scored 36 points and was the first true freshman to lead the team in scoring since 1985. You may learn some fun facts about Luke in this video!
๐ STOCK UP
๐ผ Put On Watch. Safety Noa Pola-Gates was named to the 2023 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year watch list! The award is presented to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity. Noa is a transfer from Nebraska who joined the Lobos after spring practice and should be a big contributor to the defense.
๐ผ Singling Out. Fall camp has ended and it is officially time to buy single game football tickets. They go on sale today at 8:00am! There are now less than 2 weeks until kickoff at Texas A&M and 3 weeks until the home opener.
๐ฅ Fall camp fun.
๐ผ Drawing Board. The Lobos soccer team outshot Northern Arizona 19-9 yesterday with four shots on goals, but ended the game in a 0-0 draw. New Mexico had a 16-3 shot advantage in the second half of the match, after NAU had a 6-3 advantage in the first half of play. Alli Davis recorded her first clean sheet of the season after making four saves. The Lobos will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Cal State Fullerton.
๐ผ Sweep Victory. The volleyball team hosted New Mexico Highlands in an exhibition match over the weekend. The Lobos got the four-set sweep before hosting a post-game clinic for some kids at The Pit. The Lobos completely dominated the Cowgirls until the fourth set where there was some back-and-fourth action, but the Lobos came out on top! Theyโll return to the court on Friday to get the regular season started at the UC Irvine Invitational.
๐บ ONE BIG THING
Raise The Roof. The 2023 Cherry & Silver Scholarship Gala took place over the weekend and Lobo Nation smashed records. A whopping $793,200 was raised at the event. Last year, a record was set at $585,000. There was a helmet signed by Coach Gonzales, a jersey signed by Hall of Famer Terance Mathis, a piece of The Pit, and much more for the silent online auction!
