🔼 Triple Take. The winning began for New Mexico baseball on Friday when the Lobos walked off South Dakota State to win 12-11! On Saturday, the Lobos swept the doubleheader against the Jackrabbits. The first game on Saturday was a thrilling walk-off win thanks to a Will Asby single. Game two was a 13-2 run-rule win. Will Asby and Gene Trujillo launched home runs in the run-rule. The Lobos upped their batting average to .291 and have produced at least 12 hits in each of their last three games. Up next, they’ll host Hofstra for four games.

🔼  Nail-Biting Basketball. The women’s basketball team picked up a 59-58 win at Wyoming on Saturday. The game included seven lead changes, with three in the fourth quarter. Charlotte Kohl put the Lobos up by three with 18 seconds left, and the Lobo defense stopped the Cowgirls from scoring more than two. Nyah Wilson led the team with 11 points, while Paula Reus and Aniyah Augmon finished with 10 each. They’ll be back home on Thursday, hosting San Diego State.

🔼 Playing Perfectly. The women’s tennis team has improved to 9-0! The Lobos went to California to shut out UC Riverside and UC Irvine. They returned home yesterday to host UTEP and got a 6-0 win. This remains the best start to the season since 1998, when the Lobos started 12-0. They’ll have more than a week off before heading to Montana on March 7.

🔼  Tee Time. The 17th -ranked men’s golf team kicks off day two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas this morning! They’ll go up against 15 teams, 10 of which are in the top-30 of the national rankings. The Lobo lineup includes Bastien Amat, Carson Herron, Matthew Watkins, Albert Boneta, and Alvaro Portillo.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

The Lobos hosted the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend and kept some of the hardware at home! Habtom Samuel and Mercy Kirarei swept the men’s and women’s 3,000m and 5,000m races. The women’s team finished the meet in fourth-place and the men in fifth.
