📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Buzzer Beater. The women’s basketball team beat Grand Canyon 70-68 on Wednesday. Alyssa Hargrove made the first and final baskets of the game. She hit the game-winning buzzer-beater. Joana Magalhães led the Lobos with 15 points. Emma Najjuma registered her first double-double as a Lobo with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

🔺 Weekly Honor. Track and field athlete Habtom Samuel was named the Mountain West Athlete of the Week. Samuel recently ran the fastest 3,000m of any UNM and Mountain West athlete in history. This marks his sixth MW Track Athlete of the Week award of his career across indoor and outdoor.

🔺 Championship. The swim and dive team started competition in the Mountain West Championship. On day one, Alice English earned All-Mountain West honors in the 3-meter springboard. She placed sixth in the 1-meter. On day two, New Mexico picked up 11 points in the 3-meter dive. English finished 17th in the 3-meter springboard. Kaylah Yazzie PR’ed in the 100 fly, 50 free and 100 back.
