Lobos Brew 11/21: WBB on 4-Game Win Streak

The women's basketball team won its fourth straight game of the season.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Victory! The women’s basketball team beat UT Martin 77-45 on Thursday. UNM is now on a four-game win streak. The Lobos shot 42.2% from the field. Four women shot in double-digits. Destinee Hooks led the team with 15 points. Alyssa Hargrove, Cacia Antonio and Laila Abdurraqib each had 11 points.

🔺 Day 2. The swim and dive team is competing in the Phil Hansel Invitational. Over the first two days, the Lobos had 19 athletes hit personal records. Emily Ford had PR in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing fourth in the C-Final. Rian Bleyendaal hit two PRs. She also finished in fourth in the 100 back.

🔺 Trio of Lobos. The women’s basketball team signed three new players for the 2026 season. Maya Thompson is a guard from Texas. She averaged 18.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season. Elizabeth Johnson is a center from California. She has averaged a double-double for three seasons, finishing with 23.3 points and 15.9 rebounds per game last season. Quintilla Hidalgo is a guard from The Netherlands. She competed in the 2025 FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket.

🔺 Schedule Released! The softball team announced its 2026 Mountain West schedule. The Lobos open the conference schedule at home against new-member Grand Canyon on March 13-16. UNM will play 25 conference games with two-game series against UNLV and Nevada.

🔺 Just Short. The men’s basketball team rallied from down 20 points in the first half against Nebraska on Thursday night. The Lobos fell in the first game of the Hall of Fame Classic at T-Mobile Center against the Huskers 84-72. Jake Hall scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Lobos.

🔺 Close Match. The volleyball team fought in five sets against Wyoming. The Lobos fell 3-2. Lauryn Payne and Reagan Miller led the team in kills. Payne had 17 and Miller had 13. UNM finished with a .215 hitting percentage.
