🔼 History For Habtom. Lobo track & field freshman Habtom Samuel has done it all, and won it all. He became an NCAA 10,000m National Champion in Eugene, Oregon last night! He crossed the finish line in 28:07.82 to become New Mexico’s first athlete to win an NCAA outdoor individual title since 2019. He’s now the first Lobo to win a national title in the 10k. He’ll bring home his fourth All-American honor of the season, but he isn’t done yet. He’ll compete in the 5,000m tomorrow!

🔼 All-American Amat. Men’s golfer Bastien Amat earned 2024 PING All-America Third Team honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America! This is his first All-America honor of his career. He ended the season ranked No. 24 nationally after winning Mountain West Golfer of the Year.

🔼 Aced It. Five New Mexico baseball student-athletes landed on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Jake Holland, Will Asby, Brett Russell, Arthur Steinkamp, and Dayne Pengelly earned the honors. Jake will advance to be considered for Academic All-American status.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Men’s tennis player Alex Maggs has been named CSC Second Team Academic All-America! This is his second-straight Academic All-American honor, becoming one of five in the country to complete that feat.
